Best time to visit

November to February brings the coolest, driest weather and the most comfortable conditions for sightseeing. The March-to-May hot season and the June-to-October rains are quieter and often cheaper.

Getting around

The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway are fast, affordable, and beat the traffic, while metered taxis, tuk-tuks, ride-hailing apps, and river ferries fill in the gaps. Riverside sights are easiest reached by Chao Phraya express boat.

Insider tip

Carry a light scarf or sarong to cover your shoulders and knees, as temples enforce a modest dress code for entry.
